It is time to respect and value people with intellectual disabilities.
It is time to accept and welcome us as your friends and neighbors.

New Year’s Eve Torchlight Parade

•January 1, 2009 • 2 Comments

This year for New Year’s we participated in a great annual event – Alta’s Torchlight Parade.  We rode teh Wildcat chair to the top and looked down over the valley.  The Moon and Venus were looking so beautiful.  The valley was gorgeous.  There was hot chocolate waiting for us at Watson’s.  There were SO many people!!!!  It was so fun!  We grabbed our flares and lit them and skied down the mountain.  Our flares didn’t stay light, but we had fun skiing down while they shot off fireworks!  It was so great!

Christmas Time

•December 25, 2008 • 1 Comment

We got to spend Christmas with the Rowleys this year and it was fantastic!  We had a great time: eating fondue, reminiscing,  arts and crafts time, walking, relaxing, watching Holiday Inn…you name it, we did it!  Fun was had by all!  Kurt and I took it pretty easy – we just did stockings for each other!  It was perfect!

We LOVE Neil Diamond!

•December 20, 2008 • 4 Comments

Last night we went to the Neil Diamond concert!  It was SO GOOD! SO GOOD! SO GOOD!  He is so fantastic in concert!  I (Katie) have ALWAYS wanted to go and see him in concert and Kurt made my wish come true!  He sang all his GREATEST songs as well as some of his new ones!  I LOVED that he sang Forever in Blue Jeans – which is my all time favorite!  If you have never seen him, DO IT next time he comes to town!  He was rad in his 67 years of splendor!  My crush was totally renewed!  Kurt even had a good time!

Neil - Oh SO cute!

I was just looking at our blog and I realized how lame it is!  I haven’t really posted much about what has been going on in our lives…so here it is – quick-like!

The World’s BEST Birth Control

•December 16, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Kurt and I took the nephews to Chuck E. Cheese.  This was all because of a little promise that we made to a five-year-old over a year ago!  Those kids don’t forget a thing, I’m not even kidding you.  We took Nick, Parker, and Luke to the local Cheeseria and, as you can imagine, all sorts of wackiness ensued.  We had an oober fun time and the boys really loved playing the games and getting tickets with Kurt, but I can promise you, that is the last time we will go to Chuck E. Cheese.  A shout out to all of you parents who dare venture there with kids more than once!

Mo Tab Christmas Concert

•December 12, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Thanks to the Wallace Family we got to go down to the Conference Center and listen to the Mormon Tabernacle Christmas Concert – the Bells of Christmas.  We got to sit on the floor level about 25 rows back!  It was amazing!  We could see President Monson all night and had a great view of the singers, dancers, orchestra, and bell choirs.  Two of the kids in our neighborhood got to play in the bell choir!  The guest performers were amazing!  We got to get into the Christmas spirit with 20,000 of our closest friends!  Happy holidays!

A Special G-Love Concert

•October 29, 2008 • 1 Comment

Katie won tickets to a special acoustic concert by G-Love (from G-Love and the Special Sauce).  Melissa and I went to the concert together.  He was all by himself with his guitar and harmonicas.  It was incredible!  We had so much fun singing along and listening to his stories.  There were only about 100 people at the concert so we all got to ask questions and hang out!  It was so fun!  We LOVE the G-Love!
